Merry Christmas With Bucks Adult Carers 2024
Buckinghamshire Adult Carers Christmas Lunch 2024
On the 1st of December 2024, at the Masonic Centre in Beaconsfield, the Beaconsfield committee for Freemasonry in the Community held a Christmas lunch for 50 adult carers, a welcome drink of bubbly, or two, started the lunch off on the right foot.
During the three course meal with a soup starter, a main course of Turkey and all the trimmings, obviously flaming Christmas pudding and mince pies and coffee, they were entertained by playing some games which took us all back to our childhood, I’m sure we all remembered pass the parcel which did cause a bit of cheating, but it’s Christmas, prizes were won for Bingo, Heads and Tails and a General Knowledge quiz, there were also many prizes to be won in a free raffle including a Christmas cake which was made and donated by Helen Matthews, wife of Steve a member of the committee.
Our resident singer, Kevin Taylor, made sure of a rousing ending with many dancing to their favourite songs.
Thanks must go to members of Cestreham Lodge and their partners for acting as waiters and waitresses, and also dancing partners for some of the carers.
A special mention for Graham Thorn for pulling the event together.
This would never have happened without the donations from the members of Frederick Lawson, Penn and Tylers Green and Hall Barn Lodges. A big thank you from the committee to you all
What makes it all worthwhile are the reactions below from some of the carers……
“Please can I ask that you pass on my gratitude to the Beaconsfield Masons for their sterling effort. It was great talking to other carers and to know that you are not alone.
